Even 6 year olds can play

We love this game. Even our 6 year old was able to quickly pick up the concept and can hold his own.

Fun alternative to Chess!

I bought is for my husband for Christmas. He is an avid chess player and I thought he might enjoy this…..and boy was I high! This game is so much fun. I'm not a big Chess player like my husband but I really enjoyed playing this game. It is very easy to play and understand. The game board and playing pieces are quality. My only complaint is that the game pieces fall easily if hit as they are light weight.

Serviceable, pieces are too large for the board

Would be perfect on a larger board. The board spaces are fairly small, and the pieces are large enough (and of a sufficiently awkward shape) that makes it difficult to pick up pieces in crowded areas of the board without knocking other pieces. There are also common additional rules and erratas used by players of tafl games not mentioned in this box set; so I would suggest researching the rules for hnefatafl independently, especially from EU sources.
